Busy Bees

Busy Bees

Busy Bees is currently suspended due to Coronavirus. Stay tuned for more information.

Busy Bees…. support, care & friendship for children and their parents/carers. Join us on a Thursday morning from 9.30am – 11.30am at St. Andrew’s during school terms. Since its inception, Busy Bees has offered the opportunity for families to bring along their pre-school children for an activity-based morning in our church hall. Parents play alongside their little ones with a range of toys and crafts.

We have a team of ladies and gentlemen, all grandparents, who interact with both children and adults. Sharing experiences enhances the learning for all. At Busy Bees, responsibility for the care of each child remains with the parent or carer. Toddlers can move fast when there is space! We are happy to be an extra pair of eyes.

Morning Tea has become a high spot of the activity. Our ladies cut and serve fruit, homemade scones and cakes for parents to select for their children and themselves. The children sit at our big table or picnic style on rugs, to enjoy a social experience of sharing food together.

Friendships are formed between the mums, dads and grandparents, many of whom meet up in and around Caloundra during the school holidays when we are in recess.

All our helpers are volunteers. We ask for a $2 donation each week, towards expenses, and bring a piece of fruit for morning tea. Supplementing our morning tea in other ways, sweet or savoury, is also appreciated.
